Worshipping the All-Glorious One
OVERVIEW
We believe that the primary purpose of our worship through song is to acknowledge and proclaim that the triune God of Scripture is indeed the All-Glorious, Sovereign Creator of the universe, and as such, is the only One to Whom men should ascribe glory. To accomplish this, we strive to ensure that the music we present to our congregation reflects the highest possible reverence for our great God by being:
• Biblically accurate in its descriptions of Him and holding to a high view of God (content),
• Honoring to Him in the manner in which it is played (style), and
• Of a level of quality commensurate with both the God we serve and the varying degrees of talents that He has blessed us with (quality).
In addition, we recognize that God, in His infinite wisdom, has ordained that a secondary purpose also be accomplished in the act of His people properly worshiping Him through song, namely the edification of His Bride, the church. True, Biblically accurate, Spirit-filled worship has an edifying and sanctifying work in the hearts and minds of the children of God. The Music Ministry at Heritage is committed to teaching, encouraging, and admonishing the saints through the songs that we sing.
Understanding these things by the grace of God, we affirm and declare that God is, as the Bible teaches, entirely holy and deserving of being lifted up in the hearts and minds of His creation. To that end, the Music Ministry at Heritage continues to strive to do all that God enables us to do to glorify Him and minister to the body of believers at Heritage.
INVOLVEMENT
We are always looking for willing and capable people to bring into the Music Ministry at Heritage. If God has given you the ability to sing, play an instrument, or support the group in the area of sound reinforcement, please contact T. Payton or the church office.
“And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, ‘Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.’” Revelation 4:9-11
