Verse 1
The sands of time are sink-ing,
The dawn of heav-en breaks,
The sum-mer morn I’ve sighed for,
The fair sweet morn a-wakes;
Dark, dark hath been the mid-night,
But day-spring is at hand,
And glo-ry, glo-ry dwelleth
In Emmanuel’s land.

Verse 2
The King there in his beau-ty,
Without a viel is seen;
It were a well-spent jour-ney
Through sev’n death’s lay be-tween;
The Lamb with his fair ar-my
Doth on Mount Zion stand,
And glo-ry, glo-ry dwelleth
In Emmanuel’s land.

Verse 3
O Christ, he is the fountain,
The deep sweet well of love!
The streams on earth I’ve tasted
More deep I’ll drink above;
There to an ocean fullness
His mercy doth expand,
And glo-ry, glo-ry dwelleth
In Emmanuel’s land.

Verse 4
The bride eyes not her garment,
But her dear bride-groom’s face
I will not gaze at glory,
But on my King of Grace;
Not at the crown he gift-eth
But on his pieced hand:
The Lamb is all the glo-ry
Of Emmanuel’s land.
